The Whistlers (AGH Film Festival)

Oct 25, 4pm. A corrupt policeman attempts to free one of his accomplices from a prison on the island of La Gomera. To do so, he must learn the indigenous whistle dialect of “El Siblo” from a group of local criminals in order to communicate with his accomplice. The film explores the limitations of language, as well as the ways in which language can be used as an act of resistance.
