VOC Silent Film Harmonic: Gamera, The Giant Monster

From out of the arctic comes a gigantic flying, fire-breathing turtle that sets its sights on destroying Tokyo.

STRIKING DOWN JETS, GRABBING HOLD OF THE TOKYO TOWER, FLYING THROUGH THE AIR BREATHING FIRE, THE GIANT MONSTER OF THE CENTURY!

A nuclear explosion in the far north unleashes Gamera, the legendary flying turtle, from his sleep under the ice. In his search for energy, Gamera wreaks havoc over the entire world, and it’s up to the scientists, assisted by a young boy with a strange sympathic link to the monster, to put a stop to Gamera’s rampage.

The VOC Silent Film Harmonic, under the direction of Ted Harms, was formed in the summer of 2007 with the idea of performing live & improvised music to accompany silent films. The group takes its inspiration from how many silent movies were originally presented - taking themes and using them as the basis for improvisation. The overall goal is for the music to reflect, enhance and support the movie, not to overtake or distract.
