Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor star in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, one of the greatest and most successful musicals ever filmed—filled with memorable songs, lavish routines, and of course, Kelly's fabulous and famous song-and-dance number performed in the rain.
Set during the advent of "talkies," Don Lockwood (Kelly) has risen to stardom during Hollywood's silent-movie era—paired with the beautiful, jealous and dim-witted Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen in her Oscar-nominated performance). When Lockwood becomes attracted to young studio singer Kathy Selden (Reynolds), Lamont has her fired.
But with the introduction of talking pictures, Lockwood finds his career in jeopardy after audiences laugh when they hear Lamont speak in her shrill voice for the first time—until the studio decides to use Selden to dub her voice.
2-for-1 admission for Hamilton Day!
Hamilton Day is an initiative by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. Held annually on the first weekend in November, Hamilton Day is an opportunity for local and regional visitors to support Hamilton retailers, cafes, restaurants, bars, theatres, independent artists and musicians, florists, gyms & fitness studios, personal services, entertainment, and games stores – among others.
The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce first held Hamilton Day in 1931 during the depths of the Great Depression to boost spirits and the local economy. 90 years later - following the pandemic - the event was revived and made annual due to overwhelming community support.
Today, Hamilton Day is a city-wide celebration that supports small businesses across Hamilton, Ontario. Bursting with community pride and entertainment, it offers a premiere opportunity for local and regional visitors to explore, connect with, and shop all areas of our city.
